9 Ways to Nurture Your Marriage

9 Ways to Nurture Your Marriage

By William E. Rabior and Susan C. Rabior Liguori Books, Liguori, Mo., 2000; $6.95

9 Ways to Nurture Your Marriage

This small book emphasizes ways to have an ever-growing marriage.

Nine is the key number in this book, and the starting point is everyday experience rather than William Rabior’s observations as a psychotherapist. By talking with many people whose marriages appear to be solid and happy, the Rabiors distilled nine factors they believe are essential for a successful marriage.

Beginning with “little things mean a lot,” these writers go on to describe eight more little and large behaviors and attitudes that enable couples to build good relationships.

Each of the short chapters concludes with “Nurturing Dialogue” questions. Using interviewee quotes and the authors’ own marital experience, this small book emphasizes ways to have an ever-growing marriage, and it does so in a practical and insightful style.
