Practical Help from Elizabeth Ministry – 4 Resources
“Infertility Journey: Making Faith-Informed Decisions Under the Guiding Hands of God”
“Our Unborn Baby Has a Problem”
“Mourning a Miscarriage: Prayers for a Couple Grieving the Death of Their Unborn Child”
Elizabeth Ministry is a nonprofit organization founded in the tradition of Elizabeth’s and Mary’s mutual support during their pregnancies with John and Jesus. Elizabeth Ministry and its materials support the dignity of human life and promote strong family relationships.
These four booklets exemplify their offerings. They address critical topics in a simple and inexpensive, yet attractive format that is compassionate and easy to understand, and every booklet is solidly grounded in Catholic ethics.
The first three booklets, each 21 to 25 pages, present scientific information, Catholic moral teaching and useful advice for couples dealing with infertility, considering prenatal testing or presented with disturbing test results. Each booklet aims to help couples look at their issue from medical, moral, emotional and spiritual perspectives.
The fourth booklet remains rooted in compassionate Catholic ministry but takes a different approach. It offers prayers for a couple who may find it hard to talk with God about their grief and concerns after a miscarriage. These original prayers range from comfort-seeking, through requests for help for other children and grieving grandparents, to dealing with unthinking clichés. Instead of saying “It’s God’s will,” a considerate friend could offer a hug and this booklet.
